NHL 21 Hockey Ultimate Team roster gain four additions representing the new players that are making their NHL debut this season.
The latest NHL 21 roster update includes four of the debuting NHL players. All of them are young athletes that had amazing performances in their debut games.
Kirill Kaprazov comes from Russia. He started playing in the Kontinental Hockey League for Metallurg Novokuznetsk team in 2014. He was drafted into NHL in 2015 but it wouldn’t be until 2020 when he would join the team. In the meantime, Kaprazov went to play with Salavat Yulaev Ufa and CSKA Moscow. He made his debut in the NHL in the 2020-2021 season and, after one game only, it became clear that he has amazing potential. He scored the winning goal with an overall of three points. Kirill achieved the feat of being the first player to score three points and one overtime goal in his first game for the league. He became the NHL First Star of the Week. Kirill Kaprazov enters NHL 21 with an 83 OVR, however, we are confident that this is just the beginning and his OVR will be much higher by the end of the season.
Goalie Ilya Sorokin is another Russian player that is making his debut in the NHL. He plays for the New York Islanders after he was drafted during the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Sorokin made his hockey debut with the youth club Vympel Mezhdurechensk. In 2012, he joined the KHL with Metallurg Novokuznetsk. In 2019, this talented goaltender earned Gagarin Cup Playoffs MVP after winning the cup with CSKA Moscow. Even though the New York Islanders lost the game against the New York Rangers, Sorokin had a good performance defending against 26 attempts. Out of 31 shots, five made it past him. He joins the NHL 21 selection with 80 OVR.
Alexander Romanov is a young player of only 21 years. He played for CSKA Moscow. In 2021, he made his debut into the NHL alongside the Montreal Canadiens. Romanov has a defensive position, however, he proved to be an able scorer as well. His debut card in NHL 21 has 77 OVR. The fourth rookie is K’Andre Miller. MLB pitcher Rick Helling was Miller’s high school coach and mentor. Miller was drafted in 2018 by the New York Rangers. His debut NHL 21 card has 77 OVR which is great for a new player.
